Read the opening

Once upon a time there is a sweet little girl. Everybody loves her, but her grandmother loves her most of all. One day her grandmother gives her a little red hood. The girl loves it, and she wears it every day. So everybody calls her Little Red Riding Hood.

One day her mother says, "Little Red Riding Hood, your grandmother is ill and weak. Here is some cake and a bottle of milk. Please take them to her. They will make her feel better."

"Yes, Mother," says Little Red Riding Hood.

"Go now, before it gets hot," says her mother. "Walk nicely and don't leave the path. And when you get to Grandmother's house, say 'Good morning' first. Don't look around the room before you say it."

"I will be careful," says Little Red Riding Hood. She takes the basket and says goodbye.

Her grandmother lives in the forest, half an hour from the village. Little Red Riding Hood walks into the forest, and soon she meets a wolf. She does not know that wolves are dangerous, so she is not afraid.
